Acupuncture Treatment

Sliding Scale Between $20-$40

A typical visit starts with you checking in with the acupuncturist about your primary concern, and then getting an individualized treatment. We like to know how you’re doing in-general, beyond the usual single thing you are coming in for. How’s your sleep? Digestion? Mood? Energy? What else is going on with you?

Acupuncture has beneficial side effects. For example, even if we haven’t directly addressed your severe back pain yet, you might experience relief and reduced tension, indicating that the treatment series is starting to do something for you.

First time patients complete paper work telling us what you most want help with that day, what your health goals are, and overall health history.  Although it may be most appropriate to focus on once concern, acupuncture always treats you as a whole.

During your treatment, you can rest as long as you like. The recommended minimum time is 20 minutes, and sometimes people relax for a couple of hours. Somewhere between 20 min to an hour is typical.

Initial Treatment

New Patient Fee Additional $10

To get started, make an appointment. What was your primary reason that brought you in today?  You’ll fill out a complete health history (you can download the initial patient form and fill it out at home if you prefer, or simply fill it out at your first appointment). This allows your acupuncturist to start to get to know you and start mapping a picture of your overall health. It’s also a way for you to let us know if there is anything else regarding your health that you would like help with.

Herbal Consultation

Sliding Scale Between $20-$40 plus the cost of herbs

Often your acupuncturist is able to prescribe herbs as part of your acupucnture treatment (especially for things like acute pain, colds, flus, coughs, allergies, menupause). Sometimes though we need to be able to talk a little more and review your goals, medications, and other supplements you may already be taking. In this case you will need to schedule a seperate Herbal Consultation. During your treatment, we review current medications, herbs, and supplements, and you will get a prescription for Chinese herbal medicine to support your acupuncture treatments.  Certain conditions respond very well to a combination of acupuncture and herbal medicine. For example, allergies, symptoms of the common cold and flu and digestive disorders can all be helped with the right combination of herbs. Chronic inflammatory, auto-immune, and hormonal conditions are also good candidates for herbal support. We have a complete pharmacy of Chinese and Western herbal formulas and supplements.
