How do we treat lots of people so successfully?

Since we opened in April 2010 our mission has been to provide accessible, affordable, effective treatments to as many people as possible.  Our goal is for you to get treated as often as you want, for whatever you want.  14 years in service to our community has seen a lot of changes, but our mission is the same.

When Covid hit the world Chico Community Acupuncture (CCA) had to make a lot of changes, we treated fewer people, we wore masks, we raised our sliding scale.  In the last three years I (Olivia) have had two babies, and I’ve been gone growing and raising those tiny amazing people.

The time has come, we’re ready to get back to our roots, treating lots of folks

There is magic that happens when people get treated in community.  Each person is there with intention to feel better, be that they just needed a deep rest, to de-stress, or their overcoming debilitating disease.  There is synergy in the room to help all of us be our best.

Acupuncture works, research backs that up.  Click this link to read more about that on Evidence Based Acupunctur’s article on acupuncture for pain

But it is the most effective when you come in regularly, and sometimes frequently.

We offer a sliding scale so that if you happen to need to come in frequently…you can pay less!  Or, if you’re doing well, and just come in now and again because you know that acupuncture does great things (like reducing circulating cortisol levels, putting you into your parasympathitic nervous system so that you can heal from what ever is going on), then you can pay accordingly.

We treat you in a room with other folks resting.  That means you don’t have to be isolated on your healing journey.  That’s powerful.  Ellie and I (Olivia) just had Ellie’s exit interview, and we reflected how Covid has been divisive in so many ways, and exacerbated issues of isolation.  Chico Community Acupuncture is a direct antidote to that.  Come in, bring your friend, bring your dad, bring your sister, bring your co-worker…or just know that you’re not alone in seeking help from what ails you when you see other people doing exactly what you’re doing.

We offer more than “just” acupuncture (I put just in quotations, because truly, even acupuncture alone is HUGE and absolutely ENOUGH).  In case you need it, you want it, or your punk thinks it could further your progress along we also offer cupping, Gua Sha, massage, and Chinese Herbal medicine, and western supplements.

Acupuncture is safe!  “Out of 4,441,103 acupuncture treatments, the number of reported serious adverse events was only 11.”  https://www.evidencebasedacupuncture.org/safety/. A serious adverse event includes a pneumothorax.    We treat primarily on the extremities, head, ears, and NOT on the torso, so the risk of a serious injury when you get treated at Chico Community Acupuncture is even lower.  I love how safe acupuncture is from the perspective that we’re not adding another chemical to your body like a pharmaceutical.

We have regular hours:  We’re now open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10-6; Friday and Saturday 10-3.  You can schedule online and over the phone.  We often have same day appointments, and we’ve brought back the option to drop in.  We know you’re busy, and how great is it that now, if you find an extra 20-30 minutes in your day, you can just head on over and plop down in a chair for a treatment.  Please do!

We’ve been in business for 14 years.  That is only because you all use acupuncture as part of your healthy tool kit.  AND because you all tell people about us!  Remember our mission?  Treat lots of people?  Please keep telling folks about us.  Send them our way so that we can help them too and keep fulfilling our mission to make Chico and surrounding communities healthier, happier, experience less pain, and bring more peace to us all one treatment at a time.
